OVERVIEW

In My Eyes offers an immersive virtual and augmented reality experience that simulates the visual effects of three retinal eye conditions. It aims to provide insight into the symptoms experienced by patients to improve understanding of diseases, foster empathy, and facilitate better communication.

The application is compatible with smartphones, allowing usage with or without a Google Cardboard virtual reality headset.

STORY MODE

• “Story Mode” enables users to view the world through the lens of three specific retinal eye conditions using virtual reality. These conditions include Wet Age-related Macular Degeneration (Wet AMD), Diabetic Macular Edema (DME), and Macular Edema following Retinal Vein Occlusion (MEfRVO).
• Users can select a patient profile to perceive life from their viewpoint, experiencing how these eye conditions impact their vision. This interactive virtual reality feature aims to provide a more personalized understanding of the patient experience.

LIVE MODE

• “Live Mode” offers an augmented reality experience, allowing users to visualize the effects of Wet AMD, DME, and MEfRVO in real-time. By utilizing the smartphone camera, users can observe how these eye conditions manifest in their immediate surroundings and affect day-to-day activities.
